  • For tourist stays of less than 30 days, citizens of the United States are not required to obtain a visa, provided
        that he/she has proof of transportation out of the country and sufficient funds for the stay. For tourist stays of
        30-90 days, a short term visa is required; for tourist stays longer than 90 days, a long term visa is required.

  • Travel to Korea for all other purposes, a visa is required regardless of length of stay. Business trips DO
        require a visa regardless of the length of stay.

  • The chart below lists countries with visa agreements with the Republic of Korea. Citizens of the listed countries
        are not required to obtain a tourism visa if their stay will be less than the time period listed. Business and all

  • Citizens of the United States are required to pay a $45 visa-processing fee by check or money order,
        made payable to the Korean Consulate.

  • Citizens of Japan, Thailand, the Republic of China and the Philippines are not required to pay a visa
        processing fee for stays of less than 59 days.

  • Citizens of the United Kingdom are not required to pay a fee for stays of less than 6 months

  • Citizens of Sweden, Spain, and Italy are not required to pay a visa-processing fee

  • Citizens of all other countries are required to pay a $30 visa-processing fee is for a single entry visa
         for stays less than 90 days. The fee for stays over 90 days is $50 for a single entry visa. Multiple entry
         visas are $80.
